Contemporary Biophilic Home, Singapore

“Biophilic refers to an innate human connection and attraction to nature and living systems”, and this is exactly what our client envisioned, and what we ultimately delivered. “It’s the idea that humans have a biological need to connect with the natural world, and this connection can have positive impacts on our wellbeing.” Bringing the outside in was exactly what we did, and our client couldn’t be happier.

We managed to incorporate natural elements and patterns within the home environment, which can ultimately enhance human health and productivity, especially for those who work or spend long hours at home, as our client does.

Bringing the outside in can be done in different ways, especially through natural tones and colour palettes. We used brown and green tones to give the home that earthly feel, and we designed the house to maximise the natural light coming through the large floor to ceiling windows.

Brown and grey furnishings accompanied the wooden cabinetry and walls, whilst grey stone and green marble were used to provide texture and contrast throughout the home. We also styled the home with lots of plants and fresh flowers to bring the home to life and provide a cleansing energy.

We are really proud of this design concept, as we worked hard to meet the clients brief. What’s more pleasing is how much our client loved their new biophilic home in the heart of Singapore.
